The worst part about genshin impact is when you get a new character that requires resources from an area that you don't have access to so you cannot effectively use the new character you just got because you have a really high adventurer rank and literally everything can one shot this supposed "God" you just unlocked. It complements the lack of a skip button complaint very well because RUclips is fantastic for filling in the story that you don't witness but when you want to play say the character you just got and you now have to do an entire "original-release" sized amount of content, just to grind for gear, just to grind for materials for said gear for said new character. So imagine you haven't played the game for some time and a character comes in with a niche gameplay mechanic that "fixes" whatever it was that indirectly got you to not play the game for whatever variable amount of time... But you literally can't use them because they die, so you want to be able to use them as soon as possible, prompting you to play the game, reminding you of the disappointment you had left behind, but you've already invested to get this character, so you force yourself to endure, and that in and of itself makes the experience tarnished if not objectively worse than what both Mihoyo intended and you yourself remember, by the time you get to actually play your new character at the same caliber as the other characters youve honed and after all that you've lost the flame of inspiration that got you to start playing the game again in the first place. Which may or may not have a knock on effect on the character all this turmoil was for. Skip cutscene or a genuine Skip dialogue mechanic that skips line by line immediately after it is pressed, not the throttling we get now, would be a good first step. In my experience with playing honkai Star rail, I have luckily been able to naturally pull the majority of characters especially the four stars, and I can say that I do have a huge appreciation for the ability to have characters relevant to the story arc at the time of my experiencing it in my party at the time of relevancy. I know mihoyo has the ability to add characters to the player roster in the characters own story as an additional trial of sorts, but where they fail is that they only give one character regardless of whether you have the character already or not. This is frustrating because in some instances in the story arc there are multiple playable characters and you already own the character in which the trial is for but you do not own the other so you get a duplicate copy that is often times worse than the character you already own. What they could do is very easily make a table of every character in each story arc in the game. The game will check your character roster to see if you own any characters within the ark and then lend you the characters you do not currently possess. This would serve a more immersive sense of gameplay and also as an integral trial for the character in a real-world environment as opposed to a single instance that is specifically tailored to that specific character to accentuate every single facet in advantage that that character has an environment catered to them... As well as immersing you in that characters story.
